Story

The Maple Explorers pull off the winding road onto Vancouver Island and step into Cathedral Grove — a rainforest of trees older than Canada itself. Aspen notices ferns nodding in the mist. Hazel hears something like a distant hum. Barrett measures a Douglas-fir so wide it takes all four friends holding hands to reach around. Lumi maps the little wooden bridges and boardwalks. When the wind picks up, the whole forest seems to sing — and the four friends set out to find out why. Along the way they learn how a rainforest breathes, how tree roots talk to each other underground, and what it means for a tree to be 800 years old.
